Last night I watched where the wild things are to further my research into the idea of blending reality and a dream world. Max finds himself ignored and let down by family and escapes from reality to find an island where he is made king of characters who tower over him. As king he promises to keep everyone happy and through the film comes to realise that you cannot keep everyone happy and goes on a journey which makes the viewer consider their own experiences and look back at their childhood and path.

Andrew Burton - Childhood
This work addresses the development of children considering generational changes. He observed that children are being forced to grow up faster and I feel his work portrays this by showing the children in situations which they are too immature for. The work shows the children in fantasy explorations saying to the viewer that parents try to shelter their children.

Gregory Crewdson
Gregory Crewdson is a very famous photographer known for making high budget and complex sets, obviously I cannot afford to work with a huge crew and get access to the equipment that he can but I intend to gain inspiration from his sets on ideas of lighting to create mood. I also like how his images are often about what you don't see.
Simen Johan
On the topic of dreams and wishes there are aspects from all of these images which I find relevant and take inspiration from. The children playing in mud I find really interesting as when we were children, being allowed to play in mud would not be allowed by our parents yet it is a dream to be covered in mud and eating worms like haribo. The bottom image looks like a dream catcher and the setting in the large isolated attic I find interesting as a potential location for a shot.
